Our goal at SkinMedix is to educate our patients and to help you create a treatment plan that takes into account your concerns, your budget and your goals. To better help you understand your treatment options, let’s first take a look at signs of aging, and how addressing these changes begins with understanding the 4 structural layers that change with age:
Bone: Bone loss leads to a decline in structural support.
Muscle: Muscles begin to shrink and elongate.
Fat: Fat loss and redistribution leads to a lost volume and an overall “drooping.” The lower face widens as jowls form.
Skin: Due to aging, environment and the sun, skin begins to lose collagen, becoming thin, less elastic and supple.
Dermal Fillers
Dermal Fillers work by immediately replacing lost volume and help to restore or enhance the contours and features of the face. Not all fillers are alike and there are a variety of textures that are chosen based upon the area/areas of the face that are being enhanced or corrected. The majority of fillers we offer at SkinMedix are made of hyaluronic acid except for Radiesse, which is made of calcium-based microspheres. Most dermal fillers last 6 to 24 months depending on the area being injected, and the viscosity & amount of the product being used.

Wrinkle Relaxers
Neurotoxins (wrinkle relaxers) are dosed medications that are injected into active muscles to help relax and smooth expression lines and soften wrinkles. Neurotoxins are also used therapeutically and are excellent for controlling excessive sweating on the palms and the underarms. Visible improvements can be seen in 5 to 14 days and results can last 2 to 4 months depending on dosing and your metabolism. We also offer treatment for excessive sweating of the underarms and hands.

Kybella
Kybella, (deoxycholic acid) is a medication that is used to dissolve unwanted fat along the jaw and chin but can also be used on the body. During a treatment, small amounts of Kybella are injected into the target area. Extreme swelling, bruising and tenderness are to be expected for several days, but these symptoms start to subside by day 5 and continue to slowly improve over the next 2 weeks. The entire process of the fat metabolizing in the treated area can take up to 8 weeks. Multiple treatments may be required.
